<p><a href="https://www.lindahoganwriter.com/"><em>Linda Hogan</em></a><em> is a Chickasaw poet, essayist, and novelist, who has worked as a volunteer in wildlife and raptor rehabilitation. She is the author of </em><a href="https://www.beacon.org/The-Radiant-Lives-of-Animals-P1606.aspx">The Radiant Lives of Animals</a>, <a href="https://wwnorton.com/books/9780393322477">Dwellings: A Spiritual History of the Living World</a>, <a href="https://coffeehousepress.org/products/the-book-of-medicines">The Book of Medicines</a>,<em> and </em><a href="https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Solar-Storms/Linda-Hogan/9780684825397">Solar Storms</a>,<em> among others. In 1995 she organized a conference for tribal elders on endangered species and was part of a working group for Native input into the reauthorization of the Endangered Species Act. Her lifelong area of interest has been the traditional relationship between indigenous peoples and animals. Hogan is a professor emerita at the University of Colorado, former faculty at the Indian Arts Institute, the writer-in-residence for The Chickasaw Nation, and she was a Pulitzer Prize Finalist for her novel </em><a href="https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/MEAN-SPIRIT/Linda-Hogan/9781501112454">Mean Spirit</a>. <em>She lives in Colorado.</em></p>

<p><a href="http://sasha-lapointe.com/"><em>Sasha LaPointe</em></a><em>&nbsp;is from the Upper Skagit and Nooksack Indian Tribe. Native to the Pacific Northwest, she draws inspiration from her coastal heritage as well as her life in the city. She writes with a focus on trauma and resilience, ranging topics from PTSD, sexual violence, the work her great grandmother did for the Lushootseed language revitalization, to loud basement punk shows and what it means to grow up mixed heritage. With strange obsessions revolving around&nbsp;</em>Twin Peaks<em>, the Seattle music scene, and Coast Salish Salmon Ceremonies, Sasha explores her own truth of indigenous identity in the Coast Salish territory.</em></p>



<p><em>She is the author of the memoir&nbsp;</em><a href="https://www.counterpointpress.com/dd-product/red-paint/">Red Paint: The Ancestral Autobiography of a Coast Salish Punk</a><em>. <p><em>Terese Marie Mailhot is from Seabird Island Band. She is the New York Times bestselling author of&nbsp;</em><a href="https://www.indiebound.org/book/9781619023345">Heart Berries: A Memoir.&nbsp;</a><em>Her book was a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award for English-Language Nonfiction and was selected by Emma Watson as the Our Shared Shelf Book Club PiCCK for March/April 2018.&nbsp;</em>Heart Berries<em>&nbsp;was also listed as an NPR Best Book of the Year, a Library Journal Best Book of the Year, a New York Public Library Best Book of the Year, a Chicago Public Library Best Book of the Year, and was one of&nbsp;</em>Harper’s Bazaar<em>‘s Best Books of 2018. She is the recipient of a 2019 Whiting Award, the Electra Quinney Award for Published Stories, a Clara Johnson Award, and she is also the recipient of the Spalding Prize for the Promotion of Peace and Justice in Literature. She teaches creative writing at Purdue University.</em></p>
